The members of Congress currently make 174,000 annually. They are typically in session 113 days out of the year. During the last few sessions they have managed to do absolutely nothing. Most of them claim to be philanthropists in one way or another and usually have done very well for themselves financially before getting into office. As elected servants of the people of the United States they need to put their money where their mouths are and be willing to work at a fair wage as deemed minimum to survive in this country. Why should they make more than our military personnel or the teachers of this country? What makes them so special that they get to set their own wages and then get to tell the American people what they can survive on. They work for us!
