The RREM program awards $150,000 to qualifying Superstorm Sandy Victims who lost their primary residence. What they don't tell people, is that the money can only be used after your grant award signing. For many people this means they won't see one dime of the over $600 million dollar grant the state of New Jersey received to help Sandy victims. All the work people have been doing for over a year will not be able to be reimbursed under the current program policies. The program is extremely flawed and it shouldn't matter when you completed work on your home. If people qualify for the $150,000, they should be reimbursed for any work done prior to the grant award signing, that insurance money did not cover.
