Change pay scales in congress to be based on the economy and overall well being of the American people.

Pay raises in congress are voted on and approved by congress themselves. The pay scales in congress should be conducted on a formula based on the countries current economy, the overall well being of the majority of American citizens, and the work that congress has done in improving the lives of Americans. This should include a length of term policy for a percentage of pay upon retiring and healthcare benefits. Automatic election into congress should not mean an automatic inflated salary and benefits compared to that of the ordinary American worker.
