So far, all I've seen from this site is a bunch of excuses for why these petitions can't be addressed. How about we change the rules. Rather than promising us "a response," you instead create a task force whose job it is to cultivate lively public discourse on the topic of the petition? How about we have Barry publicly announce that this website has brought such-and-such important issue to the fore, and now we're going to have a national conversation about it, get ideas, think seriously about the problem, maybe even discuss solutions?
How about doing something useful with this site, other than placating the masses? That style of government is always doomed to fail anyway.
