I petition that all politicians' salaries reflect the median income level of their constituents. For example, Congress serves the country so their salary should be twice the national median income level for families. The President, being a higher position, would receive three times the median income level. For State levels, the median income level of families in that particular state would serve as the basis.
This change would not only save money in the budget, but would also incentivize Congress to exact actual change to economic policy to help the American people.
This would also help to remind politicians everywhere that they are, in fact, public servants and not board members/executive officers of a national conglomerate.
