American citizens should not be forced to choose the lesser of two evils when choosing who will represent them in elected office.
In the current system of plurality voting, whichever candidate gets the most votes wins, even if the majority of people oppose that candidate.
Instant-runoff voting (IRV) is a system in which people choose, instead of just one candidate, their first choice, second choice, third choice, etc. If their first choice can't win, the vote instead counts to their second choice, and so on until one candidate has the majority of votes.
This both gives voters more choice and makes sure the elected candidate is one supported by the largest amount of citizens. It's time to bring the voting system the change it needs.
