We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Change the presidential vote from an electoral system to a nationwide popular vote.

Created by H.M. on November 10, 2016

The electoral system is no longer an effective system. Because of the predictability of the current political climate and geography, only a few states have real power in the presidential election. The electoral system also enables candidates who do not have a majority of votes in the nation to become president by winning in the right states - again, empowering a select few states over others. A national popular vote would remove this problem by allowing the true voice of the people to be heard and ensure every vote counts, whether you live in Alaska, California, or Ohio.
