Presidents' Day currently occurs on an arbitrary Monday in February. The Monday immediately following the NFL Super Bowl is a relatively ineffective work day, as so many people are traveling back from a celebratory weekend or simply recovering from staying up late on Sunday night. Synchronizing these two events just makes good sense.
