Change the Record for All Dishonorably Discharged LGBTQ People in the Military, as Far Back As Possible

Created by Z.B. on October 13, 2014

Throughout the history of American society, we LGBTQ* individuals have been oppressed and discriminated against. LGBTQ* individuals have been a part of American history from the start, however, we have been oppressed and ignored for most of it.

Throughout the 1900s, many of us have been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces, due to our orientation or gender identity. We implore the Obama administration to, while not repair this, make some steps towards improvement. We implore the Obama administration to go through the records of discharged individuals and change the record to make all individuals discharged for their orientation to be honorably discharged, as far back as the records allow. This cannot change the damage done, but it can clear the record for the innocent.
