Change the restrictions for Federal Student Aid so that students under 24 can receive aid if they have no parental help.

Created by R.S. on August 08, 2013

I believe the government should reevaluate the restrictions set up by the Department of Education that require students under the age of 24 to submit parent financial information. Many students are completely independent of their parents before they turn 24. Getting an education is expensive, and some parents either can't help their children as much as the government thinks they should be able to, or they refuse to help at all. If we make education more accessible, more people would be able to become contributing citizens more quickly, taking people off of welfare and other government programs. If students get the help they need earlier on, they won't need as much later in life.
