Richard Reid, also known as the "shoe bomber", should be required to undergo the following punishment at airports around the country on a rotating basis, in lieu of his prison sentence.
He should be required to be in the custody of TSA and positioned securely, but in a way that is accessible to passengers, at the end of the security screening area.
Passengers who have removed their shoes, for security reasons, should be warmly invited by means of prominently displayed signage to strike Mr. Reid with their shoes as they leave the area.
We believe that this is just and fair punishment for the crime Mr. Reid has been convicted of. And we hate having to take of our shoes.
