Weapons technology is significantly more deadly (and broad) than 18th century muskets and flintlocks. Also, there is no longer a need for "state militias"; we have the National & Coast Guard, the police, the Armed Forces to protect us. Our right to bear arms should be an EARNED (not a GIVEN) right; like with automobile licenses, guns should be given only to those who pass a course on competency, temperment, gun safety, proper storage/usage, and consequence—IT MUST BE WELL REGULATED.
