Change SNAP/Food Stamp benefits to prevent their use for junk food, tobacco products, and alcohol.

Created by A.S. on January 20, 2013

Bar the purchase of candy, soda pop, other junk food items, and Red Bull with SNAP/Food Stamp benefits.

Further, bar the use of ATM's to withdraw cash benefits, which are often then used to purchase alcohol and tobacco products.

And finally, to bar the use of SNAP/Food Stamps benefits at convenience stores for anything other than the purchase of milk, bread, eggs, and/or can food.

The purpose is to improve the health of the poor by encouraging the purchase of HEALTY foods over junk foods, and to refrain from supporting unhealthy habits that negatively impact the future health of the population, (namely smoking, intoxication, and obesity), and thus reducing future health care costs.
