change the SSI policy which counts life insurance policies as a resource.

Created by L.J. on September 18, 2013

There are large numbers of over 50 unemployed workers who are having a difficult time finding employment. We are being ignored by employers because they can hire younger workers for less money. We may not have the youth but we do have the experience of years of working and solving issues in the work place that might come up. We are also being ignored by our government because we cannot get any help in supporting ourselves while we wait for employment. Most of our children are grown and do not live at home, so we don't qualify for welfare. We were raised to work hard, have life insurance and save for our retirement. Well doing those things have left us ineligible for SSI because they count our life insurance as a resource.
