Puerto Ricans living in Puerto Rico (a U.S. Territory) are U.S. citizens from birth, but do not have the same voting rights or the same representation in Congress as other U.S. Citizens. They're essentially considered 2nd class citizens although many have served valiantly in the U.S. Armed Forces in many wars. Ironically, if a Puerto Rican moves to the continental U.S., they can then vote in federal elections.
This is simply unjust to the American citizens living in the island.
This is a disgrace and an awful example of racism against American citizens who, in the case of Puerto Rico, have been considered citizens for almost 100 years.
The status imposed on this island by this racist and archaic [ temporary] law will never allow for the people in this island to flourish.
