Change the Tax Code so Same-Sex Couples are not penalized financially from additional taxes on their medical benefits.

Created by E.F. on December 19, 2012

Same-Sex Couples that receive medical benefits from their employer for their spouse, (being treated the same way that they treat heterosexual couples), are then taxed as additional income the portion of the medical insurance costs for their couple that the company includes in their benefit package for their employees. They are being financially penalized because they do not fit the IRS standard of a married couple. But their employer treats them as equal individuals, which is the way it should be. But our government does not and this needs to stop. We need to change the IRS Tax Code to treat all couples equally.
