The fair tax should be implemented to help save this country. They (white house) that it would create more hardship on middle and low class families and not effect the rich! HA
The fair tax would have EVERYONE pay tax. The wealthy, Illegal immigrants, drug dealers, and anyone involved in illegal measures for monetary gain would pay tax on what they buy. Taxes would decrease on employers allowing them to decrease the price of products sold, allow them to hire more people.
The government does not want this implemented b/c then they would not have the flexibility to manipulate the taxes coming in and lessen the possiblity of lining pockets. Lobbyists would no longer be needed (at least not as much). Each state has different tax amounts.
