Changing from two 4-year terms to a single 6-year term for the President, he/she could focus on running the country while in office rather than spending the frist 4 years worried about winning the next 4 years. We need a President (and Congress for that matter) who will make the hard decisions that may not be popular to the citizens (and the lobbyists), and he can't do that if he is concerned about how the voters will take it.
