Changing from two 4-year terms to a single 6-year term for the President, he/she could focus on running the country while in office rather than spending the frist 4 years worried about winning the next 4 years. We need a President (and Congress for that matter) who will make the hard decisions that may not be popular with the lobbyists. This would require an amendment to the Constitution, but this is something that should be considered.
