The best thing for the country is to admit to itself what it is. To continue to delude ourselves that we're somehow exceptional based on rights and protections that we don't even support anymore, is contrary to itself.

To keep trying to ignore this will just further damage the reputation of the United States on the world stage. It seems better to be honest.
