Change the United States' National Anthem to "Back in Time" by Huey Lewis and the News.

Created by E.A. on July 14, 2013

Given the recent acquittal of George Zimmerman, the conviction and 20-year sentence of Marissa Alexander, the passage of a restrictive omnibus abortion bill by the Texas legislature, the striking down of Voting Rights Act Section 4 by SCOTUS, and numerous other judicial and legislative decisions that continue to set back years of racial and gender-related progress made in this Country, as well as national attitudes that continue to expose our racist, xenophobic, sexist, and homophobic nature, I hereby petition the White House to change the United States of America's National Anthem from Francis Scott Key's "The Star-Spangled Banner" to the ubiquitous 1985 Huey Lewis and the News hit, "Back in Time" (featured prominently in the 1985 blockbuster, "Back to the Future").
