We feel that the current system in place for nominating and electing our national representatives, known as 'winner take all' or 'first-past-the-post (FPP),' does not accurately allow the majority of voters to have a fair say in who they want representing them. FPP systems invariably lead to a two-party system that makes many voters pick "the lesser of two evils" when deciding who to cast their vote for. This, in return, leads to congressional deadlock.
We would like to see a new system implemented. Specifically, fair representation voting. This system is already in use on a local level and can help accurately reflect the wants of the voting public. See http://www.fairvote.org/reforms/fair-representation-voting/ for more information on this style of voting.
