Washington's Birthday is celebrated on the third Monday of the month of February. The NFL Super Bowl, which has become the largest sporting and televised event in the United States, typically occurs on the first or second Sunday of February. So, typically, they are not aligned.
This will actually help the economy by placing the holiday on a date that has seen, historically, depressed levels of productivity. In addition, it will provide people with an added incentive to spend money as consumers in the lead up to the game. Finally, Presidents Day would expand the holiday to recognize all of the Presidents. Or, it could focus on Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan, all with birthdays in February.
