Change the way all elected officials are paid their salaries to be more inline with their constituency.

Created by M.B. on October 21, 2015

The way elected official are paid is too much and places them in a different economic status then the people they are elected to represent. We petition you to change that now and forever more to the following system. An elected official salary will be directly tied to the median income of his constituency. This means that a mayor's salary will be the median income of the city he represents, a representative will be paid the median income of the district that he represents, and a Senator will be paid the median income of the state he represents. Per diem can be paid to them when they have to travel to DC but this change will make them part of the people they are elected to serve. If they want their salaries to rise, they will have to raise the conditions of the people who elected them.
