Change the way companion animals are bred and housed in the United States.

Created by B.H. on November 13, 2012

Companion animals such as cats and dogs are being housed in abhorrent conditions and treated as farm animals or worse in "puppy mills". These breeding mills are a disgrace to any civilized country. While all animals should be treated in a human fashion, those animals that provide companionship and comfort to millions of Americans deserve to be treated with kindness. Stuffing breeding animals into cages with no flooring so their feet are deformed over time, breeding indiscriminately, killing the "stock" that can no longer breed, keeping these animals in cages their entire lives with no love, attention, freedom to run or even touch the ground. Little veterinary care, rare protection from heat and cold, no access to clean water and nutritious food. There is no reason for this to happen.
