Change Welfare polices

The status of our country has lowered over the years do to various reasons. One of those reasons is the fact that too many people rely on Welfare. I believe that the policies on welfare should be changed because being on welfare decreases motivation to find work, many on welfare use their checks for unnecessary items, and causes more money to come out of our government's credit card.
First, most people on welfare lack drive to find a job. Those who fall under this category think that they can stay on welfare as long as they want and reap the benefits of another's work. Secondly, The use of this money for unneeded items. In the laws that provide those on welfare money it states the word "essential" otherwise known as necessary.Lastly, Welfare is a large part of the federal budget
