change where "food stamps" can be used and what can be purchased with them. No energy drinks, soda, ice cream, candy...

Created by F.Y. on May 07, 2012

People that are in the food stamp program should NOT be allowed to purchase candy, energy drinks, ice cream, chips, soda, lobster, prime rib, etc with their food stamps. These items are not necessary or healthy! They should be restricted to the staples...bread, milk, fruits, vegetables and basic meats. If stronger restrictions are put on what is allowed and where these cards can be used (no convenience stores) less money would be needed to feed people in the program. The WIC program has strict restrictions and something similar needs to be implemented for the food stamp program.
