Change Women's Consent Forms for Tubal Ligation: Ensure Doctors are informing of serious possible side effects VERBALLY

Created by A.B. on May 05, 2013

Dr.s are NOT educating women of ALL possible risks before signing a consent for Tubal Ligation. Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome has been debated since the early 1900's & has been passed off as a myth, however there have been many Doctors speak out that there is evidence of serious "problems ranging from torsion, hydrosalpinx, menstrual disturbances with increased pain, endometriosis, to irreversible interferences with the endocrine system. It is clear that tubal ligation is not the ‘clean cut’ procedure that it purports to be, and, in the interests of women, the myths about safety and efficacy need to be publicly dispelled." We are asking that Dr.s must VERBALLY inform women of these risks as well as what METHOD they will use BEFORE surgery. Literature MUST be provided when using clips.
