Change the wording of the Preamble to the U.S. Declaration of Independence to read, "all people are created equal."

Created by A.U. on January 21, 2013

Respectfully acknowledging the ground-breaking work our forefathers did when creating this great nation to be an international example of peaceful evolution of culture and government, we request that the foundational documents of our country reflect the progress that has been made by adopting more inclusive language regarding who, exactly, is created equal. We do not accept that the original language is intended to be inclusive, since the right to vote has historically been a measure of full citizenship in this country, and, at that time, that right was only extended to white, landed men. We are grateful that that is no longer true, and that the USA even claims to be a world leader in the area of women's rights. So let us truly be that leader-- to our deepest core.
