Change/Update the US Army regulations 601-210.8

Created by R.B. on November 25, 2015

The current US Army Regulation 601-210.8 states in chapter 3-8 anyone prior service who's spouse is in AC or RC cannot join until they are done with training because of dependents. This rule needs changing or updating for dual military families so that not only I can join but future people can join as well. We should not have to wait as long as a family care plan is in place and currently anyone in the reserves could deploy while their spouse is in training.

The applicant’s spouse is a member of the AC or RC of any Service (excluding IRR), and applicant has one or more dependents under the age of 18. (Recruiting Battalion Commander or equivalent member of the ARNG may consider waiver, provided applicant’s spouse has completed IET.)
