We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Changing the National Anthem

Created by E.N. on September 30, 2016

We the People feel that "The Star Spangled Banner" no longer fully represents the wishes, hopes, aspirations, and dreams of all Americans. We think Harold Arlen and E. Y. Yarburg express who we are and what we stand for as Americans better than Francis Scott Key. Therefore, we urge our representatives in Congress to consider changing the national anthem to "Over The Rainbow." Not only does "Over The Rainbow" more fully and more accurately represent the ever-changing colors, contours, and magical character of our Nation, but it is more memorable than "The Star Spangled Banner" and much, much easier to sing.
