charge animal abusers with a felony instead of a misdemeanor. They should have jail time not just a slap on the wrist!

I am sure most Americans are tired of reading articles, watching videos, seeing in newspapers and TV about how animal abusers get away with a slap on the wrist and maybe a small fine, if that. It is time for the laws to change! Abusers should be charged with a felony and do jail time. The conditions in a puppy mill are horrific! How can a person throw a puppy in a garbage can, throw a puppy out of a moving car, leave their dogs outside in below 0 temperatures, only to freeze to death, starve their animals and beat them? There should be a register to prevent anyone from getting another fur baby if they have been convicted of animal abuse.
