Today's government officials are basically bought and paid for by special interest groups making it impossible for them to represent "we the people". They should only be allowed to have their salary as income while they are in office. They should not be allowed to accept money, gifts or special favors from special interest groups or through lobbyists. This equates to the selling of our government representation for personal gain and is treasonous.
