Charge gun buyers, amunition manufactures, and gun dealers, a surcharge that will pay for increased security in schools

Created by A.D. on December 21, 2012

Gun buyers, ammunition manufactures, and gun dealers should foot the bill to provide the additional law enforcement needed to protect the overwhelming majority of people who do not want to carry a weapon. This protection is called for by many, including the NRA. Just as with tobacco, if you use a product that is harmful to others, you should pay the increased cost that society incurs. Through the persistent use of products that clearly are dangerous to others, and by the NRA’s admission, require increased law enforcement to protect innocents, society is being forced to increase its level of protection in public places. A hefty surcharge on those using these products should be enacted to pay for this needed protection.
