Charter an open, inclusive and secular organization that is otherwise similar in nature to Boy Scouts of America.

Created by S.M. on October 28, 2012

Moderate people from all walks of life find the core principles, values, skills & training of Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to be of benefit to the individual & to society as a whole. BSA has enjoyed the benefits of a Congressional Charter for nearly a century. However, as confirmed constitutional by The Supreme Court, you cannot join BSA unless you also accept their religious principles & certain consequential, religiously founded, teachings.

I propose a Congressional Charter for a secular version of BSA - (perhaps "Modern Scouting Association" but I leave that to experts) that offers the same character & community building curriculum of BSA without the religious bias & membership exclusions.

A religious basis to membership did not stop the abuses.

The time to modernize BSA is now!
