Car Insurance companies do not cover you once your spouse has been in dui. I was with car ins. co. for over 10 years. They cancelled my insurance once i informed them of the incident and stated I would need to find new insurance by end of month. I informed why can I not continue with them and they stated "because i was married to him". He is not going to be able to drive for 5 years.I had to find new car insurance coverage that covered an excluded driver . Payments were twice as much for my daughter and I. I feel its unfair, that I have to carry with a burden of higher rates with another insurance for something I personally didn't have anything to do with.
