CPS has far too much power to disrupt the lives of all American families. This power is granted based on both a loosely defined (and exhaustive) list of purported "offences" against a child and the individual case worker's personal interpretations. Americans with children are afraid of CPS workers in the same manner Jews were afraid of the Gestapo during WWII: anyone can report us for anything, but we are not given fair justice. We are viewed with skepticism and disdain, we are forced to submit to random drug tests and other degradations of our privacy while being threatened (either covertly or overtly) with the CPS court system for not "voluntarily" submitting to their demands.
