Children's Health Month, October 2013, Incentive Program

Created by D.S. on February 21, 2013

Educate students on making healthy food and exercise choices and encourage students to start an exercise program during National Children's Health Month, October 2013.

The Education Dept., along with Jamba Juice, will provide elementary schools a student booklet filled with daily 10 min. mini-lessons that teachers can do with students. Lessons can be about healthy eating, exercise, bullying, and other kids health topics. The final activity would be a school "fun run" on Oct. 30, 2013 where students are encouraged to run 2 miles in 30 minutes or less. If a student finishes the packet and completes the 2 miles, the teacher signs the booklet and gives it to the student. The students can then turn in their signed booklet to their local Jamba Juice for a free small drink on Oct. 31st, 2013
