Choose "butter not guns".

Created by T.E. on December 27, 2012

If the United States is as great and rich as claimed, we should have world class health care, social security, education, infrastructure and programs to eliminate poverty.

But we are told we cannot afford these. I say we can afford them if we stop wasting 1/2 our budget on the military complex. President Eisenhower, a Republican no less, warned the citizens of the dangers of the military complex. We could have plenty of guns or butter but not both.

After Eisenhower, I recall Vietnam & millions of Vietnamese killed. The military saw they could sell a phony war to the citizens and get away with it. The dollars being fed to this beast are more than ever, threaten our solvency, and deprive social programs.

Please return us to prosperity by moving money from the military to the people.
