Choose a non-biased official to answer petitions regarding the federal legalization of marijuana, not Gil Kerlikowske.

Created by E.E. on November 17, 2012

The Office of National Drug Control Policy Reauthorization Act of 1998 states that the Director must oppose all attempts to legalize the use of illicit drugs in any form. The current Director, Gil Kerlikowske, was chosen to respond to petitions regarding the legalization of marijuana. These petitions have well over 25,000 signatures but with an ex-police chief who views legalization as "waving the white flag" and says that "legalization is off the charts when it comes to discussion, from my viewpoint" in charge of responses, they will never stand a fair chance. Basically, there should be a well informed, educated expert who responds to such an important topic, not someone who is so biased against it.
