Chris Mintz, the US Army veteran who saved lives in the Oregon shooting deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom

Created by M.R. on October 02, 2015

In light of the horrible and tragic shooting in Oregon on October 1, 2015, I think it's important to ignore the name of the dead criminal who shot those innocent people. Instead we should remember the name Chris Mintz. Chris Mintz is an Army veteran who risked his life by running into harm's way, unarmed, to attack the shooter and try to save the lives of others. He is recovering in the hospital from multiple gunshot wounds. He sacrificed himself so that others may live. This is the definition of heroism and bravery. No act deserves recognition more than selfless acts like this. Chris Mintz is a true American hero. I am nominating Chris Mintz for The Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor our country has.
