The recent tragedies in Orlando, FL (the killing of Christina Grimmie at The Plaza Live, and the massacre of 49 people at The Pulse nightclub) are events which should never have happened. They would all most likely be alive today if not for the lack of two common security measures: guards at the entrance with metal detector wands, and an armed security guard inside the venue. Metal detector wands cost about $150, and many venues already employ unarmed security guards who could screen people before entering. Also, an off-duty police officer or other armed guard is a minimal expense to assure the safety of performers and patrons.
I would hope that these measures would be put into place voluntarily. It could be called “Christina’s Law”. (Copied from Bria Kelly)
