We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Citizens are provided an option to select "Abstain" when voting for a President which cancels the current election.

Created by M.C. on November 08, 2016

When voting for the President, there will be an option to select "Abstain" on the ballot. If "Abstain" receives more popular votes than either of the candidates the election is voided. The current POTUS and his staff will remain in office for an additional year, but their powers will be limited (no executive orders, no selecting justices, military control temporarily goes to the SECDEF, etc.). After six months the parties can select their candidate for the Presidency, to be voted on the following November.
