The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol operates with secret policies and procedures and routinely detains U.S. citizens, subjects them to degrading searches and takes possession of their phones and computers for as long as they deem necessary. They are also responsible for shooting to death 42 people in the "border area" which extends 100 miles into the United States. This includes the death of U.S. citizens shot in the back when they were not at the border.
