Classify all firefighter's personal vehicles as an emergency response vehicle when responding to a call.

Created by G.W. on October 29, 2011

Firefighting personnel have difficulty driving to the firehouse in a timely fashion because of the limitations set by the state regulations. Many people have been seriously injured, or sadly even killed because of late response times. It is truly a shame, because almost all of these deaths could have been avoided. It is proposed that firefighting personnel should be allowed to have the same privileges as a police officer. This means that they should be allowed to have sirens, be able to disregard stop signs and other traffic devices which may inhibit the firefighter from driving to the firehouse in quickest time possible. This law varies from state to state, but it should be a federal law due to the risks involved to the first responder and the public.
