Classify dogs in military service as "canine members of the military" instead of "equipment. Give them soldier benefits.

Currently, military dogs are classified as "equipment". When they are no longer needed, they are "surplus equipment". Many of these selfless vets are simply euthanized after service. Those wishing to adopt them have to pay to bring them home. This petition is to require the military to care for the canine veterans of military service as they do the rest of our military. Bring them home when they are done serving. Help rehabilitate dogs who have suffered a form of PTSD. These animals did not enlist, but they serve faithfully to the best of their ability. Ask the President to require they be shown the dignity currently reserved only for their human counterparts.
