The organization known as GamerGate has over the past few years expanded from a loose knit association of male gamers investigating Gaming Journalism Ethics, into a full blow engine of harassment, bigotry and suppression of women's rights / Free speech.
These people have used various illegal tactics (SWATing, Calling in false bomb threats, Inciting people toward acts of violence) in the means of meeting an agenda and stopping the natural progression of the games industry.
As a society it is our duty not to silence viable free speech, but to protect the innocent form persecution simply based on gender and material interest.
The events most recently involving panel discussions at SXSW are a clear example of the chaos being sewn by this group.
