The shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, on 5 November, 2009, has controversially been considered "workplace violence." Due to this classification, the Soldiers who were wounded during this attack are not entitled to benefits that Soldiers wounded overseas would be entitled to- such as The Purple Heart. There has been no logical explanation as to why this attack continues to be classified as workplace violence. Please change this classification to terrorism but more importantly award the Soldiers what they deserve, especially those who lost their lives in this senseless, cowardly attack on American soil.
