Handling deepwater oil spills in the current day are primitive and futile. The Obama Administration should improve this vastly if they combine controlled burning of oil in specific oil spill regions and a new type of helpful, clean, safe absorbent that collects 40 times its weight. If this is done properly, deepwater oil spill cleanup will become much cheaper, more efficient, and much better for the environment and surrounding ecosystem.
