Clearly apologize for the US role in the NATO attacks that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers-it's just the right thing to do.

On November 26, NATO led an attack that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers near the Afghan border. NATO has already stated that it offers its "deepest condolences and sympathy" to the families of the soldiers killed. NATO has also stated that there will be an investigation into why the attack went awry. President Obama has told Pakistan, a critical ally, that the attacks were unintended and there is an investigation underway. But of course any mistake is unintentional, and there's no reason why we can't just come out and say, "we're sorry." The Pakistani people are incensed by the incident - and rightfully so - imagine what we would think if Pakistan killed 24 of our brave troops and said they didn't mean it and they'll look into what went wrong. Sometimes kindness is better than being right.
